KANAL++ RELEASE – What’s new?

Version: 8.3.65 (2008-04-24)

  • Improved DYNA calculation results: A new, more consistent and coherent foundation has been conceived for infiltration calculation, which is based on the parameters initial infiltration, final infiltration and constant of reduction. Though it has been simplified significantly, now DYNA is able to calculate the infiltration processes much more precisely. For further information, take a look at the new CPM method description, where the method is explained in all details. The first experience suggests considerable reductions of drainage from the permeable parts of terrain.

  • The permanent losses are being subtracted evenly from the precipitations and from the precipitation run-off. Moreover, the water deposits in basins drain by a rate consequently reduced to the half, during precipitation-free or -poor periods. Therefore, those deposits can be relevant several times during one event, either completely or in certain portions.

  • In order to reach an improved evaluation of the danger of solid deposits, new figures for the “potential of dirt in the sewer”, have been included, which had been taken from a work by the German Engineer E. Macke (Original German title: “Flachstrecken und Ablagerungen Bericht/Zip2/Hö/b7158”): This can be employed during comparisons with the formulas regarding solid matter transport tensions and provides support for the field of work “deposits”, which is part of our research project with the German Environmental Federation.

  • In order to thin the points being used in the terrain model, it is now possible to enter the parameter for the grade of thinning manually.

  • The new functions, “mark areas within a polygon” or “mark manholes within polygon” make it easier to work with ++SYSTEMS.

  • Divided calculation: the DYNA directory is being cleaned automatically before any new calculation. In case of a calculation abort, the result files are no longer copied in the working directory.

  • Damage evaluation has been extended according to German ATV-M149, It is now possible to take private conducts into consideration.

  • Tab-transport (among others Single/ and serial rainfalls in the extended dialogue) and the output of the dialogue of hydraulic variants have been simplified.
